Rules and Guidelines for Clean Ink Recovery and Mental Health Poetry Submission

You are entering a free-to-enter poetry, artwork, and tattoo** photo contest to publish in a recovery-centered publication. There is no cost to submit entries nor limit to the number of entries submitted. You must submit a new entry for each poem and tattoo**. If your poem or tattoo** photo is chosen, you will NOT lose ownership of your work. Your work will only be used in an addiction, recovery, mental health-specific publishing or an addiction, recovery, mental health-centered treatment website/ social media and all sites affiliated with Threefold Press and The Mindful Neuro. If your poem is chosen and is published, it will be considered published work, and you may not be able to submit it to be published elsewhere. This would depend on where you are submitting your work. We reserve the right to publish in any additional recovery-centered publishing opportunities.

We do not accept copyrighted or royalty-required images or content. We only accept unpublished works. This includes both works published in print and online (This does not include poems published on self-publishing blogs or social media). All work submitted must be of original work. If plagiarism is found, it will disqualify all entered works. We reserve all rights to publish submitted work as we see fit and rights to all publishing decisions.

Poems and tattoos need to be on the topics of addiction, recovery, or a loved one of someone in recovery from substances, gambling, or mental illness. Poems can represent the darkness of addiction or the light of recovery. The choice is yours. We will not publish any work glorifying or romancing drug and alcohol abuse, or that is sexual in nature. We will not publish or display images that advocate violence directed toward oneself or others. We realize that elements may border these ideas in the topic of recovery and addiction. We have the right to interpret what is appropriate material to be published. Ensure your poem's format is consistent with the type of poem you submit. Photographs must be submitted in JPG or PNG format with the highest quality capability.

Include how you would like to be credited in the publication. At times poets would only like to include first names and last initials. The choice is yours. A photo of our choosing could accompany each published poem. If your entry is selected, you will be notified via email and telephone/cell number provided on the submitted entry form. If your submission is selected for publication, you will receive one physical copy of the published book at no cost. Printing copies of the finished book for resale is prohibited. You may submit a question for further inquiry using this same form.

For each book purchased, half of the book proceeds will be donated to the Field of Hope Community Campus' art therapy program. Field of Hope is in the business of youth drug prevention, adult and youth substance abuse rehabilitation, and mental health treatment.

**Tattoo and artwork submissions should be sent to linda@themindfulneuro.com. By submitting your work, you agree to the rules and terms outlined here.

Deadline for entries – December 31st, 2023
